Improvements to Funie Steed Road at the intersections of Lindfields Boulevard and Formosa Gardens Boulevard are being designed to increase safety and capacity through the intersections. The project is being designed in accordance with a safety study conducted in 2022 by the Florida Department of Transportation, and a traffic analysis is underway at both intersections to confirm how best to accommodate existing and proposed traffic demands. The design effort currently includes:

At Lindfields Boulevard and Funie Steed Road:

  • Roadway improvements to include installation of ADA curb ramps and pedestrian signals, drainage improvements to accommodate the roadway modifications, and milling and resurfacing of the intersections.
  • Signalization improvements. The existing flashing beacons will be removed once the proposed traffic signal is operational.
  • Intersection lighting to increase visibility to pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists.

At Formosa Gardens Boulevard and Funie Steed Road:

  • Roadway improvements to include proposed left turn lanes along every approach to the intersection, and turn lane extensions, installation of ADA curb ramps and pedestrian signals, drainage improvements to accommodate the roadway modifications, and milling and resurfacing of the intersections.
  • Signalization improvements. The existing temporary strain pole system will be removed once the proposed new traffic signal is operational.
  • Intersection lighting to increase visibility to pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists.
