Approved Preferred Alternative
The Sinclair Road Extension Project began in September 2021 with the launch of a Project Development & Environment (PD&E) study. The PD&E study has evaluated various alternative improvements and their impacts to the physical, natural, social, and cultural environments.
The resulting proposed Preferred Alternative, called the Blue Alignment, was chosen. It includes:
A 4-lane divided roadway with 11-foot lanes
A 22-foot raised median
4-foot bicycle lanes on both sides
Curb and gutter
5-foot sidewalks on both sides
The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners approved the Blue Alignment on February 20, 2023. This allowed the project to move forward with final design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction.
The PD&E study was completed in the first quarter of 2024. This project is not yet fully funded for design or construction. If additional right-of-way acquisition is needed to build the road, it will begin when the design is about 60% complete. As documents are completed, they will be posted on the Documents section.
