Simpson Road North and South

This project is currently under construction.

The design and construction of this Project is based on the results of the Project Development and Environment Study (PD&E) that was performed for the County. The study included presenting roadway alternatives at a Public Workshop and a Preferred Alternative at a Public Hearing.

The roadway is currently over-capacity, resulting in significant delays at signalized intersections. The typical section for reconstructing Simpson Road from 2-lanes to a divided 4-lane roadway includes a 26-foot median and a 10-foot shared use path for bicycles and pedestrians on each side of the roadway.

The improvements for Simpson Road were divided into North and South sections during planning, but will be constructed simultaneously along with improvements planned for the Fortune-Simpson intersection.
