The purpose of this project is to improve the roadway and enhance safety along Jack Brack Road from Narcoossee Road to Absher Road, approximately 2.6 miles.

The proposed improvements include

  • Widening and reconstruction of the roadway into a two-lane divided urban roadway with a raised median and closed drainage system
  • Lowering the speed limit to 35 mph to enhance safety
  • Providing seven-foot buffered bike lanes for cyclists
  • Constructing a 6-foot sidewalk on the north side and a 10-foot shared-use path on the south side
  • Stormwater ponds to manage water runoff
  • Installing a signalized intersection at Zuni Road
  • Street lighting

A signal was recently constructed at the intersection with Narcoossee Road under a separate project, and modifications to the existing signal may be needed.
