Hickory Tree Road Widening

Osceola County conducted a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for Hickory Tree Road, approximately 11 miles from US 192 (south) to US 192 (north). This study evaluated widening the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided urban roadway. In addition, multi-modal transportation improvements including continuous sidewalk and buffered bicycle lanes were evaluated.

The PD&E Study involved a wide range of engineering assessments, environmental analysis and public involvement to identify and evaluate alternatives that meet the project needs while minimizing impacts to the surrounding environment.

Osceola County held a public meeting on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 to provide the different alignment alternatives to the public. On April 21st, 2025, the Osceola Board of County Commissioners accepted the composite alignment as the proposed preferred alternative to obtain Location and Design Concept Acceptance, and accepted the Hickory Tree PD&E study.

This Project is not yet funded for design or construction.
