The Canoe Creek Road project improvements span 4.65 miles from Deer Run Road to US Highway 192, in the City of St. Cloud and Osceola County, Florida. The Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study was conducted in partnership with the City of St. Cloud and Osceola County. On August 6, 2025, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated May 26, 2022, granted Location and Design Concept Acceptance for the Canoe Creek Road PD&E Study from Deer Run Road to US 192. The Osceola County Board of County Commissioners also approved the PD&E Study recommendations on October 6, 2025 and also to move forward with future project phases.

The proposed improvements consist of reconstructing the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided urban roadway. In addition, a 10-foot-wide shared use path is proposed on the southbound side of Canoe Creek Road and a six-foot-wide sidewalk is proposed on the northbound side of Canoe Creek Road to improve multimodal operations.

This Project is fully funded for design beginning in Fiscal Year 2026, right-of-way beginning in Fiscal Year 2027, and is not fully funded for construction yet for both segments.
