The proposed BVL Outfall Project will maximize stormwater discharge and create a new positive outfall by constructing dual 8’ x 6’ box culverts and additional canal improvements further upstream to help move the water towards the new outfall. The dual 8’ x 6’ box culverts will convey water from a pond within Buenaventura Lakes to the east side of Simpson Road. A ditch will be constructed from the terminus of the box culverts to the lake. These improvements are anticipated to remove 142 homes from flooding during the modeled 100-year storm event. Design and permit submission is complete. The County is currently seeking federal grant funds for the construction of this project.
