Improvements to Buenaventura Boulevard include two separate projects.
The BVL Safety Improvements project is designed to improve safety along the corridor, from Florida Parkway to Osceola Parkway, a distance of approximately 1.4 miles. The project will be designed in accordance with a safety study of the corridor conducted in 2020 by the Florida Department of Transportation. The project includes:
Roadway improvements
Signalization improvements
Improved access for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists
The BVL Complete Streets project comprises the second phase of planned improvements, from Simpson Road to Osceola Parkway, a distance of approximately 2.4 miles. This project aims to reduce vehicular speeds and includes:
Construction of two roundabouts at Trotter’s Circle and Florida Parkway
A 12-foot wide shared use path
Additional flashing beacons for pedestrian crossings, among other amenities
