This effort addresses blockages and potential hazards caused by leftover materials from past hurricanes and storms

Osceola County has completed Phase I removal of debris from Boggy Creek and Shingle Creek. Phase II is to address additional debris uncovered as creek levels have fallen. Specifically, the project has targeted displaced vegetation blocking the natural flow of the creeks, compromised trees and other vegetation that could become hazardous, and any additional trash and debris present in the creeks. The project began in late March 2024 and should be completed by the end of July or early August 2024. Funding for this project is from USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
